Nature Nuts - 131880

Nature Nuts - After School Program
Grades K-2. “There's no such thing as bad weather, only inadequate clothing.” Pile on some warm layers and rain-gear and have your child join us as we explore the world through adventurous outdoor play, science-based discoveries, and guided field investigations. Nature Nuts parents love knowing their kids are engaged in meaningful interactions with nature to support whole child development while creating memories, building a foundation for stewardship and love for the natural world. Kids are transported from the Ordway bus hub in our 10-passenger van to beaches, forests, and wetlands on Bainbridge and in North Kitsap. Nature Nuts is a program of the nonprofit organization, Peacock Family Services. Parents pick up from Prue's House at Hilltop Park.

Art & Earth
Harnessing the transformative power of the arts, we are excited to explore the natural world! From drawing to dancing, singing to sculpting, and beyond, join us as we utilize the arts to learn more about the earth.

Wilderness First Aid
In this session, we’re diving into basic first aid concepts and building skills to practice self-care in wilderness settings, guided by a certified wilderness first responder!

Going Green
What is compost? What things go into a healthy garden? What does agriculture have to do with our food? These are just some of the questions we will explore as we investigate what it means to go green.

Foraging & Foods
Wild animals constantly have to forage for their food. We are stepping into their shoes as we discover local edible plants, their effects on our bodies, and how to prepare delicious snacks from the land!

Flora & Fauna
Join us as we celebrate the end of spring by following the flowering flora, fawning over fauna, and connecting with the adaptations that flora and fauna use to thrive in changing seasons.
